As a former school board member in Orange Unified School District (OUSD)
I learned the Children's Hospital of Orange County "CHOC" had a Gender Clinic.
How did I find this out?
Because the hospital leadership requested a partnership to the OUSD Board in Feb 2020 saying they could provide FREE mental health services for the entire school district of 25K students. I found this too good to be true because, after-all, nothing is free.
As a voting member of the board, I was able to make email inquiries to the head Endocrinologist, Dr. Mark Daniel, and to the head Clinical Social Worker, Joshua of CHOC's Gender Clinic.
I learned that:
1) CHOC was socially transitioning 5 year old children and medically transitioning 9 year old children
2) CHOC embraces expansive gender identities such as both, neither or fluid genders.
3) CHOC's counseling protocols (UCSF / WPATH) are based on affirmation and medicalization of minors.
When I told the Orange Unified Superintendent (Dr Hansen) that I was going to make these facts public, she quickly pulled the CHOC item off the consent agenda. It was obvious she did not want this information leaked to the public.
After I left the board in August 2020, because I moved 3 blocks and unknowingly moved out of my Trustee boundary, the Orange Unified Superintendent (Dr Hansen) was able to put the CHOC partnership back on the agenda and get it passed in December 2020.
Here are the documents the Teachers Union Leadership and their endorsed candidates do NOT want parents or tax payers to know.
1) The Memorandum of Understanding with Children's Hospital of Orange County
2) Orange Unified voted for the CHOC partnership
3) The Emails between Brenda and CHOC's Gender Clinic Leadership (Dr. Mark Daniels and Social Worker Joshua)
