The National Suicide Hotline and Trevor Project Surveys kids on their genders (providing many gender options) and on their sexual attractions and orientations / practices.
Surveying minors without parent notification violates EdCode 51513 and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act.
The Act states:
LEAs (Local Education Agencies) are required, in consultation with parents, to develop and adopt local policies concerning student privacy, parental access to information, and administration of certain physical examinations to minors. …,LEAs must also notify parents within a reasonable period of time if any substantive change is made to the policies…... In addition, an LEA must “directly” notify, such as through U.S. Mail or email, parents of students who are scheduled to participate in the specific activities or surveys listed below and provide an opportunity for parents to opt their child out of participation in the specific survey or activity
Since calling or texting hotlines is voluntary and not a “scheduled activity,” it’s possible this is the loophole they are using to get around FERPA Laws.

It says that: Schools must notify parents and eligible students annually of their rights under FERPA. The actual means of notification (special letter, inclusion in a PTA bulletin, student handbook, or newspaper article) is left to the discretion of each school

The CDC and Advocates For Youth (the organization that wrote the 2020 Sex Ed Standards) says that YMSM is a sexual orientation. YMSM stands for Young Men who have Sex with Men.
Passed 2017, effective 2019, SB 179, created an official 3rd gender in California “non-binary”. (D-Atkins). The definition of non-binary, according to the CDC is “gender creative” which means kids can create or make up their own gender(s) and the definition of non-binary according to the Public Health Alliance is an intentional creation of one’s own gender identity
The updated Q & A (revised 9-2021) of CDE’s AB 1266 fact sheet says that a child as young as age 2 can have a gender identity different from his/her biological sex. A child’s gender identity expressed or spoken to a school representative must be held in confidence until the child gives permission for parents to know. All school personnel must use the preferred pronoun(s) and preferred name of the child provided by the child (age not a factor) with or without parent knowledge. Incorrect use a child’s preferred name or pronoun by members of the school community should be treated as harassment. Schools may not question a child’s asserted gender identity. Evidence of a child’s gender identity can be provided solely by a healthcare provided. Schools can facilitate family counseling to help accept and support a child’s transgender status.
Students (K-12) are being surveyed through the National Suicide Hotline (988) without parent knowledge or consent about sexual practices or attractions which is a violation of EC 51513
The Trevor Project, a National Mental Health Crisis Hotline for K-12 students, affirms over 100 sexualities.
Trevor Project, offered through our K-12 schools, recommends students into on-line chat spaces or chat clubs (Trevor Space), mixing minors with adults (ages 13-24) internationally without parent permission or knowledge.
